- CAPAC Releases ‘Spill the Tea’ Episode on President Trump's Broken Promises

WASHINGTON:- Today, the Congressional Asian Pacific American Caucus (CAPAC) released the seventh episode of “Spill the Tea with Chair Meng,” which discusses how President Trump has failed to deliver on his promises to lower costs on day one and address the needs of working Americans.

The episode features Rep. Pramila Jayapal, (WA-07), Co-Chair of CAPAC’s Immigration Task Force. The Members of Congress discuss how President Trump has consistently chosen his billionaire donors over the AANHPI community when it comes to health care, food assistance, immigration, and other policies that grow our economy and help working families.

“When you look at what [President Trump] has done, he’s prioritized himself and he’s prioritized his billionaire buddies… He’s renovating his bathroom. He’s spending $300 million on the destruction of the [East] Wing. He’s holding this incredible, disgusting…party at Mar-A-Lago while people are hurting and he’s talking about it all while he is inflicting maximum pain on Americans during the shutdown,” said Rep. Jayapal in the episode.

Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander adults largely disapprove of how Trump is handling a range of issues. Compared with the general public, a higher percentage of AAPI adults disapprove of how he is handling trade with other countries (75% vs. 63%), foreign policy (74% vs. 59%), immigration (71% vs. 56%), the economy (74% vs. 62%), and crime (63% vs. 53%).
