KATHMANDU:- New generation dissatisfied with the government and the Major political parties is preparing to protest in front of the Parliament building through Maitighar Mandala.

The new generation, angered by the government and the court’s decision to block social media, has announced the movement.

They are preparing to gather at Maitighar Mandala on Monday and announce the protest. However, it is not public who is leading the protest.

In the first phase of this movement, which is trending on social media from TikTok to Instagram and Facebook, the GEN Z ‘s are announcing the ‘Nepo Baby Trend’ or a street movement to make the luxuries of the leaders’ children public.

It is unclear how long the movement, ‘The Final Revolution – We Are Punching Up,’ will last or whether it will be as advertised on social media, but in this situation where social media is down, the movement announced online has had a mostly positive impact.

Older generations of citizens are also supporting GEN Z ‘s movement.

According to political analysts, how this movement progresses will assess the level of political awareness and political influence of the new generation in Nepal.

The movement, which began on social media, has reached a stage where it has been announced that it will hold demonstrations in various places across the country, from the Maitighar in Kathmandu to the Assembly Hall in Pokhara on September 8.

The group ‘MRR’, which is active on social media, has also announced that GEN Z  will launch a movement in cities like Inaruwa and Dharan. This spontaneous movement has put forward slogans such as ‘Wake up Youth, Wake up GEN Z ‘s ‘.

Judging by the recent outcry, they appear to be particularly dissatisfied with the government’s decision to shut down social media and increasing corruption.

Startup entrepreneurs are also supporting the youth movement. Asimman Singh, founder and CEO of ride-sharing platform Pathao, has also called on TikTok to not wait until 1984, but for change. “As important as digital presence is, physical presence is essential. That’s why I will personally join the protest on Monday. I urge you to join us too.”

This campaign has also gained popularity in posts on social media platforms such as Facebook and Instagram. A post has been placed in it, in which everyone has been requested to repost. When going to the stories posted in this way, a button called ‘Add Yours’ appears. After clicking on it, the same thing will be posted on your Facebook story.

The post reads, “No matter how much we talk about freedom of expression, leaders want to suppress our voices. Now they have shut down social media. How shameful. We will not remain silent anymore – enough is enough.”

Looking at social media, it seems that the luxurious lifestyle and criminal activities of the children of old party leaders are being targeted.

The social media posts target Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba, Maoist Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda, former President Bidya Devi Bhandari, Dr. Baburam Bhattarai, and their children. Pictures of Prachanda’s granddaughter Smita Dahal and Deuba’s son Jaybir Deuba’s speech have been shared, expressing the anger of the younger generation towards them.
