HUMLA:-  Floods and landslides in Nepka village of Humla have caused extensive damage to school buildings, barns, and sheep and goats.

The flood, accompanied by hail and water, that fell last night has washed away the Danfe Basic School. Initial information has also been received that agricultural land and barns have also been damaged by the flood.

According to Chhakka Bahadur Tamang, a local of Chankheli Rural Municipality-5, the sheds of ward chairmen Harkadhan Tamang and Dhansingh Tamang have been buried in the landslide. It is said that along with the sheds, sheep and goats have also been damaged.

According to Sankar Khadka, Chief of the District Police Office, Humla, the flood and landslide occurred at around 11:30 pm last night. The police have stated that there was no human casualty in the incident.

According to him, although the police team has gone to the incident site, it has not been able to reach it yet due to the remote geographical location. It is said that the team will reach the incident site by afternoon and only then will the exact details of the damage be known.

There are four villages under Chankheli Rural Municipality: Tallo Pali, Tallo Pali, Piplang, and Nepka. Nepka village, which is quite far from Piplang, the center of the rural municipality, requires a five-hour walk to reach.
