LONDON:- The Federation of Nepali Journalists (FNJ) UK branch has provided financial assistance for the treatment of Suresh Dhami, the president of the Federation of Nepali Journalists (FNJ) Kanchanpur branch. The UK branch has collected Rs 65,500 to support Dhami, who is undergoing treatment at the Kathmandu Teaching Hospital (KMC) Sinamangal Hospital after developing a tumor in his pancreas.
The collected amount was handed over to the Federation of Nepali Journalists’ central chairperson Nirmala Sharma at the central office by a team including Secretary of the Federation of Nepali Journalists’ UK branch Biswasdeep Tigela and Working Committee member Wachspati Regmi.
Dhami, who had been hospitalized for a long time due to serious health problems, had to undergo surgery and subsequent infections, which had made his treatment expensive. Dhami’s family, who had no other strong source of income other than journalism, had appealed for help due to financial constraints in his treatment. Based on the appeal, the center coordinated with the UK branch for assistance.
Receiving the amount, the Federation said that this support received from journalist friends abroad will provide great relief in this time of crisis. The Federation also expressed gratitude to the UK branch for its support.
The Federation of Nepali Journalists (FNJ) UK branch has repeatedly provided various types of support to journalists in distress.
