KATHMANDU:- The Nepal Student Union has decided not to remain as a fraternal organization of the Nepali Congress. The Senate meeting of the Nepal Students’ Union held in Kathmandu decided not to remain as a fraternal organization of the party but as an organization that serves the interests of students.

Despite its faith in the principles and policies of the Nepali Congress, the Nepal Students’ Union has passed a proposal regarding functional autonomy so that it will not remain within the party’s direct influence and system.

“According to the changing times, we felt that reforms were necessary in the student movement as well. The Senate meeting has opened the door for institutional reforms in the Nepali Students’ Union. Now, despite our theoretical support for the party, we have decided to make the working system autonomous,” said President Sherpa.

Nepal Student Union President Dujang Sherpa said that according to the Nepali Navy Union’s statute, the Senate meeting is the place to make important policy and legal decisions. He said that the decision of the Senate meeting has established the Nepali Navy Union as an autonomous and autonomous organization.

Sherpa said that while it was a fraternal organization of the party, questions were starting to be raised about the student organization and the movement itself, and that efforts were being made to move the Nepali Students’ Union forward as an organization that operates according to the conscience of the students while remaining united with democratic values.

The Senate meeting has also decided to hold the Nepali Students’ Union’s next meeting on Baisakh 20 and 21.
