Imports via Birgunj Customs in first seven months of current fiscal amount to Rs 519 billion

PARSA:- In the first seven months of the current fiscal year, Birgunj Customs recorded imports worth Rs 519 billion. During the same period last fiscal year, imports were lower by Rs 57.31 billion, or 12 percent, compared to the current fiscal year.

According to Customs Office Information Officer Uday Singh Bista, petroleum products accounted for the largest share of imports this fiscal year, followed by iron and iron products. Petroleum imports totaled Rs 143 billion, while iron and iron products amounted to Rs 46.16 billion.

During the review period, machinery and its parts worth Rs 35.87 billion were imported. This was followed by soyabean crude oil imports worth Rs 35.67 billion and electric machinery, equipment, and their parts valued at Rs 27.98 billion. (RSS)
