18.56 percent of budget expenditures in three months

KATHMANDU:- The government’s expenditures in the first three months of the current fiscal year 2082/83 (2025/26) stand at 18.56 percent of the total budget.     

According to the Financial Comptroller General Office, by the end of Ashwin (mid-October), the government had spent Rs 364.58 billion, which accounts for 18.56 percent of the annual allocation.

For the current fiscal year, the government has announced a total budget of Rs 1,964.11 billion.

As per the Office updates, current expenditure stands at Rs 256.80 billion, which is 21.75 percent of the annual target. Capital expenditure amounts to Rs 19.18 billion, or 4.7 percent. Under fiscal management, Rs 88.60 billion, or 23.61 percent, has been spent.

During the same period, the government collected revenue amounting to Rs 253.01 billion, which is 16.51 percent of the annual target of Rs 1,533.04 billion.

Within the internal revenue, the government has set a target of collecting Rs 1,480 billion. By mid-October, collections stood at Rs 249.05 billion, or 16.83 percent of the target.

Similarly, the government’s receipt of foreign grants in the first three months amounts to just 3.76 percent, or Rs 2.72 billion, out of the annual target of Rs 53.44 billion.(RSS)
