DALLAS:- The newly elected executive committee of the Dallas Fort Worth Chapter of the Nepali Public Relations Committee (NPRSC) in the United States has concluded a program of exchanging greetings and honoring the members.
The convention of the Nepali Congress’ sister organization, the NJS DFW Chapter, was held last December. Ujjwal Khatri was elected unopposed as the president of the chapter. The new executive committee, led by Khatri, honored various personalities who have made notable contributions to society and the organization in Dallas last Sunday.
Special honors were given to Sundar Karmacharya, Amrit Sapkota, Bhagwan Mainali, Om Bhattarai, and Gyanendra Karki at the program held on Sunday. The program was attended by prominent figures from the local Nepali community, Nepali Congress leaders and activists, well-wishers, and social workers.
During the program, President Khatri formally assumed the office of the Nepali Public Relations Committee DFW Chapter. Addressing the program, President Khatri expressed his commitment to transform the Nepali Congress into a political force that is trusted by the people by adapting to the times. He has called on all the cadres, well-wishers, and youth in the diaspora to organize and work together to put into practice the slogan ‘A changed Congress, a changed country’.
This is the first program formally organized by the Nepali Public Relations Committee in the US since the leadership change of the Nepali Congress at the recently held special general convention. President Khatri emphasized the need to prioritize discipline, transparency, and accountability within the party, saying that everyone, from the leadership to ordinary cadres, should play a responsible role.
The program was conducted by the committee chairman Raju Koirala, and vice-chairman Madhur Kharel delivered the welcome address. Leader Gyanendra Karki, who was present as a special guest at the program, congratulated and wished the newly elected committee and urged everyone to move forward in a stronger, more organized, and more effective manner in the upcoming elections.
After 11 years, the fourth session of the committee, held last December, saw the unopposed election of a 13-member working committee under the chairmanship of Khatri.
