KATHMANDU:- The second economic survey has begun across the country from today.

The National Statistics Office (NSO) said enumerators and supervisors have already been deployed to their assigned areas for data collection. The survey will continue until the third week of June, with around 5,000 personnel mobilised for the task.

The Ministry of Finance has urged all individuals and institutions to cooperate, stating that the survey aims to collect detailed information on the country’s industrial and business sectors.

According to officials, data will be collected from 18 sectors of the economy, including industries, enterprises, service providers, cooperatives, and both public and private institutions. Information on employment, production, and service delivery will also be gathered.

The survey will cover all types of business entities—large and small, registered and unregistered—along with non-governmental organisations, public corporations, schools, and hospitals.

The NSO has established offices in all 77 districts and seven additional locations to facilitate the process. These offices will remain operational until mid-July.

Officials said the last economic survey was conducted seven years ago, which recorded over 923,000 institutions and industrial entities nationwide.
