KATHMANDU:- The government has declared landslide and flood most affected Ilam district as a disaster crisis zone. 

A cabinet meeting held at the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers at Singha Durbar on Thursday took the decision to this effect, shared Minister for Communications and Information Technology, Jagadish Kharel.

According to the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority, 39 people lost their lives in Ilam district due to recent landslide and flood. Similarly, a person went missing and 26 were injured in these incidents in Ilam. The landslide and flood caused a huge destruction in road network in the district.

The government granted permission to the Nepal Electricity Authority to issue energy bond of worth Rs 20 billion in a phase-wise to manage source for the construction of hydropower projects.

Likewise, Deputy Inspector Generals– Sushil Singh Rathore, Uma Prasad Chaturbedi, Himalaya Kumar Shrestha and Dambar Bahadur Bishwokarma have been promoted to Additional Inspector Generals.

The meeting also dissolved  the Land Issue Resolving Commission formed as per Land Issue Resolving Commission Formation Order, 2081 and district committees of all districts.

The cabinet sent the report presented by a committee formed to search for land and movable assets in the name of Tribhuvan University at the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology for the implementation as well as a sent a report presented by a high-level study and investigation committee-2082 formed to resolve problems related to immigration and visit visa at the Home Ministry for its implementation.

Minister Kharel added that decision was taken to send a report submitted by a high-level study and suggestion committee formed to reform civil aviation sector  at the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation for its implementation. (RSS)
