ANA 42nd Nepali International Conference concluded in Calgary, Canada The conference, organized by this organization for the second time in Canada after 37 years, has taken unity, cooperation, and collaboration among the Nepali diaspora community to new heights.

CALARY, CANADA:- The Association of Nepalese in the Americas (ANA) has grandly concluded the 42nd Nepali International Conference 2025, organized by the Association of Nepalis in the Americas (ANA) from August 22 to 24 at the Glenmore Convention Centre in Calgary, the capital of the province of Alberta, Canada.

Founded in 1983, ANA is a leading organization that brings together the Nepali diaspora community, not only within the United States, but also the entire global community, under one umbrella, engaging them in social, cultural, educational, economic, and charitable activities.

The conference, organized by this organization for the second time in Canada after 37 years, has taken unity, cooperation, and collaboration among the Nepali diaspora community to new heights.

The conference organizing committee consisted of Khagendra Adhikari as the chairperson, Santosh Raj Dahal as the Patron and Vice-Chairperson of ANA, Kamal Bhattarai as the Convenor and Joint Secretary, and Mrs. Kalpana Dhakal and Dinesh Ghimire as the Co-Chairs.

The active participation of other committee members, support staff, and volunteers helped make the conference a success.

At the opening ceremony, Convenor Kamal Bhattarai welcomed the participants and expressed his commitment to further strengthen the unity and cooperation of the community.

ANA President Khagendra Adhikari, highlighting the historical significance and objectives of the organization, clarified that ANA is a common ground for Nepalis worldwide.

Patron and Vice President Santosh Raj Dahal said that the purpose of ANA is to “promote unity and harmony among the diaspora, preserve Nepali identity and culture, and empower through knowledge.”

Chief guest Dr. Swarnim Wagle delivered a special speech on long-term development, diaspora engagement, and Nepal’s vision for the future.

He noted that “the role of overseas Nepalese is crucial for Nepal’s economic prosperity and international recognition.”

Similarly, Nepali Ambassador to Canada Bharatraj Poudel highly praised the contribution of Nepali expatriates, saying that organizations like ANA are helping to further strengthen Nepal-Canada relations.

The conference featured programs covering a variety of social, cultural, intellectual, and sports. An open debate on NRN citizenship and immigration policy was conducted under the auspices of Senior Advocate Dr. Narayan Ghimire.

The Sustainable Development Forum discussed long-term development, environmental awareness, and foreign investment. The Women Development & Empowerment Forum shared experiences on women’s leadership, participation, and empowerment.

The Mental Health Session shared knowledge about the importance of mental health and ways to get support. The Youth Forum discussed the leadership and contributions of the new generation.

Under the coordination of Dr. Dinesh Dharel, not only the blood donation program was organized, but also a message was given about the importance of blood donation and the contribution to saving lives and collective responsibility.

Under the special sports program, a golf tournament and a football (soccer) tournament were also successfully completed.

The audience was mesmerized as senior Nepali singer Meena Pokharel, singer Buddhi Adhikari, and singer Yubaraj Gurung performed songs and music at the cultural program.

ANA Trustees and Advisors from the US, Canada, and Europe were present at this conference. Their participation further strengthened ANA’s international network and influence.

In the words of ANA President Khagendra Adhikari, “This conference has strengthened the identity of Nepalis in the world by bringing the diaspora Nepali community closer together.”
