DANG:- Shalikram Ghimire has been elected as the Lumbini Province President of the Rastriya Swatantra Party, (RSP).
Shalikram Ghimire had received the most votes with 199 in the competition between six candidates. As the votes did not reach 51 percent, it was decided to hold a second round of voting with his closest competitor Gopal Ghimire. Ghimire had received 87 votes in the first round.
But before the second round of voting began, Gopal supported Shalikram, according to Chief Election Officer Gokul Sapkota.
In the first round of voting, Ganesh Poudel of Rupandehi received 84 votes, Dr. Rajkumar Subedi of Banke received 80, Manju Bhusal of Rupandehi received 71, and Madhu Prasad Aryal of Rupandehi received 19 votes. A total of 552 votes were cast in the voting that took place last night.
