KATHMANDU:- The Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP)’s Department of Overseas Nepali Relations has unveiled various ambitious programs focused on overseas Nepalis, with the aim of establishing them not just as a source of remittances but as co-creators of nation building.

The Department of Nepali Overseas Liaison has stated that it will launch a multi-faceted campaign with the aim of directly connecting the skills, experience, and networks of Nepalis living abroad to the development of the country.

Most notably, the aim is to formally affiliate at least one million Nepali expatriates with the party by launching a “Nigerian Membership Expansion Campaign.” It is believed that this campaign will directly involve Nepali expatriates in policy-making and development processes.

Similarly, a “Profile Bank” will be established to institutionalize the knowledge, skills, and experience of Nepalis living abroad. Through this, investment opportunities will be identified in Nepal, skills learned abroad will be utilized, startups and entrepreneurship will be promoted, and guidance will be provided to investors returning home. There are also plans to launch an “Idea Bank” after the Profile Bank.

The party’s own central office building construction campaign will also be carried out under the leadership of the Department of Migration, in which it is said that there will be active participation of migrant organizations from around the world.

An “export potential list” will be prepared with the aim of connecting Nepal’s products and services to the international market. It will include packages related to agricultural products, handicrafts, herbs, IT services and tourism. The campaign “Wherever Nepali, there is Nepali product” aims to provide global access to Nepali products.

A 24-hour coordination system will be established to address the problems of Nepali expatriates. It will provide services such as assistance to workers and students, emergency health support, and coordination with embassies.

Various seminars, dialogue programs, and policy debates will be organized to strengthen Nepal’s image internationally. In addition, digital campaigns will be launched to promote Nepal as a safe and attractive tourism destination through the Migration Network.

Special emphasis has also been placed on the rights of Nepalis living abroad. A commitment has been expressed to end administrative hassles related to property, while supporting the principle of dual citizenship, and to take necessary initiatives to ensure the right to vote for Nepalis living abroad.

There has also been a call to “move forward together” with the goal of expanding the changes currently underway in Parliament to every sector of the country.
