Nepali Embassy urges Nepalis in the US to invest in Motherland 

WASHINGTON:- The Nepali Embassy in US urged Nepalis in the US to invest in Nepal’s comparative advantage areas and reap the benefits.

At a discussion organized by the embassy here today titled ‘Nepali Diaspora and Nepal’s Prosperity, Challenges and Opportunities in Trade, Investment and Innovation’, Acting Ambassador Sharadraj Aryal requested to mobilize capital for the upliftment of the motherland.

Emphasizing the need to utilize the knowledge, skills, and capital of Nepalis living abroad for the development of Nepal, he urged non-resident Nepalis to invest in Nepal with confidence as an investment-friendly environment has been created for them. The participants had a detailed discussion on the possibilities, opportunities, and challenges of investment in Nepal.

Consul General Laxman Khanal informed that Nepal would receive high returns from the information technology, tourism and energy sectors, and stressed that expatriate Nepalis should not miss out on investment opportunities available in those sectors.

Entrepreneur Lok Tiwari said that Nepalis in various professions and businesses in the US should utilize their skills and experience for the development of Nepal and suggested that the remittances received by Nepal should be invested in productive sectors.
