KATHMANDU:- The Nepali Congress has launched the ‘Jara Abhiyan’ to update its active membership from today.
Party President Gagan Kumar Thapa launched the campaign by updating its membership in Kathmandu Metropolitan City-30. Launching the campaign, he urged those who can to support this campaign and those who cannot, not to not cooperate.
“I said as the party president, I have come with one thought, to complete this work, those who can, please help me, those who cannot, please do not create an uncomfortable situation for me. Some friends may not be able to go to their places due to special reasons, some may be outside Nepal, some are disabled, the party understands this situation, we will make special arrangements for such friends,” said President Thapa.
Informing that all matters of active membership have been ‘digitized’, he said that the cooperation of all friends is required in the work of updating membership.
President Thapa urged the party’s responsible persons to come to the party office and understand the issues that they do not understand with the General Secretary, and urged them not to discuss them unnecessarily outside.
“If you do not understand the matter, responsible friends, please come to the party’s central office. Do not unnecessarily create a ruckus by interrupting outsiders or saying that our active membership has been eaten,” he said.
The Congress has announced this campaign to update the active membership and reorganize the party as the Root Campaign. The Root Campaign, launched with the aim of making the organization systematic, strong and up-to-date, will be conducted till mid-Baisakh, informed President Thapa.
Under this campaign, party president Thapa has urged active members across the country to renew and update their membership on time. A mandatory arrangement has been made to have them visit their ward to update their party membership.
Nepali Congress Party President Thapa informed that the party is planning to make arrangements for members to renew their membership at their own place as the tendency of others renewing their membership in the past has made members less active and responsible. The party has said that it has taken this as an important step to strengthen the organization and strengthen discipline.
Through the ‘One Month Go to the Roots Campaign’, the Congress aims to make digital ‘Congress ID’ mandatory, update active membership in the ward, distribute new memberships and conduct citizen dialogue. The Congress is preparing to implement the provision of filling out a form and taking a photograph for updating the membership of old active members. In order to collect the personal details of all active members, the Congress is going to make it mandatory to fill out a form and take a photograph during the membership update.
The Congress has made internal preparations to effectively implement the provisions of the statute in the distribution of new memberships, open new memberships online, and make provisions easy for new individuals to become members.
During the campaign, the Congress has urged everyone to make it mandatory to obtain the ‘OTP’ number and take a mandatory photograph when updating active memberships.
