Heat wave in Lumbini and Far Western Terai, hot days likely in Bagmati and Gandaki

KATHMANDU:- The Hydrology and Meteorology Forecasting Division has stated that the monsoon winds are currently affecting the entire areas of Koshi, Madhes and Bagmati provinces, some parts of Gandaki province and some places in the eastern Terai of Lumbini province.

In other areas, there is partial influence of westerly and local winds. Currently, it is generally cloudy in Koshi Province, while it is partially cloudy in the mountainous and hilly areas of Madhes, Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali and Sudurpaschim Provinces. Light to moderate rain is occurring in some places in Koshi Province and one or two places in Bagmati Province.

According to the division, it will be generally cloudy in the Himalayan and hilly regions of the country and the Terai of Koshi Province this afternoon, while it will be partly cloudy in Madhes Province. The weather will be mainly clear in the Terai regions of Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini and Sudurpaschim Provinces.

There is a possibility of moderate rain or snowfall with thunder and lightning at some places in the mountainous and hilly areas of Koshi, Bagmati and Gandaki provinces and at one or two places in the mountainous and hilly areas of Lumbini, Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces. There is a possibility of moderate rain with thunder and lightning at some places in the Terai areas of Koshi province and at one or two places in Madhesh province.

Similarly, there is a possibility of heat waves in some places in the Terai region of Lumbini and Sudurpaschim Provinces, and temperatures are likely to increase in some places in the Terai region of Bagmati and Gandaki Provinces.
