KATHMANDU:- The way has been cleared for the screening of Nepali film ‘Lalibazar’. On Wednesday, a joint bench of Patan High Court judges Khadananda Tiwari and Netra Prasad Acharya refused to continue the short-term interim order issued earlier to ban the screening of ‘Lalibazar’. With this order, the film will be screened from next Friday, i.e. Baisakh 25, according to the production company, Shatkon Arts.
The film’s producer Max Dipesh Khatri informed that the film will be released from next Friday with the order of the esteemed court. He said, “We did not make the film in a way that would hurt the sentiments of any community or class. We have made a film on the story of a mother and daughter. The film presents the story of a mother’s struggle for her daughter.”
Director and writer Yama Thapa expressed confidence that the sentiments of any community will not be hurt after watching the film. He said, “There have been various speculations about the film based on speculation. I am confident that no one will be hurt after watching the film.
The film stars Swastima Khadka, Rabindra Singh Baniya, Samaira Thapa, Mukunda Kumar Shrestha, Abhay Baral, Prem Pandey, Pradeep Dhakal, Asha Poudel, Govinda Sunar, Abha Aryal, Tara Sharma, Ramesh Badi, Saraswati Adhikari, Janaki Kadayat, Nischal Panthi, Birbal Chaudhary and other actors.
Bishal Devkota and Prasanna Subedi are making their debut through this film. Vishal is an active actor and director in theater. Prasanna is known as an emerging actress of the Genji generation. The screenplay and dialogues of the film ‘Lalibazar’, which is written and directed by director Yama Thapa, have been jointly prepared by director Thapa and Pradeep Bhattarai.
