COLORADO:- The cover of author Dr. Chandra Giri’s novel “Donkey: The Road of Dreams” has been unveiled amid the grand celebrations of the 9th Nepali Literature Conference being held in Colorado, USA, organized by the International Nepali Literature Society (INLS).

The cover was unveiled on the first day of the conference amidst the dignified presence of about 250 people, including distinguished guests from various countries of the world, literature enthusiasts, and local Colorado residents.

The cover public program had a special presence of distinguished creators of Nepali literature. The presence of the chief guest of the conference, Dr. Nawaraj Lamsal, President of the International Nepal Literature Society (INLS) Sarbgya Wagle, President of the ANSAS Trustee Padam Biswakarma, Madan Puraskar winner Dr. Neelam Karki Niharika, Dr. Rishi Vastakoti, Dr. Sharad Parasar, Suresh Kumar Bhatta, and Govinda Adhikari made the program more dignified.

Delivering a brief speech at the ceremony, literary figure Dr. Rishi Bastakoti said, “I am fully confident that this novel created by Dr. Giri, who has gained worldwide fame through his lifelong academic studies and research, will be of the highest quality and worth reading.”

Similarly, shedding light on the emotional background of his work, author Dr. Chandra Giri said, “This novel is not just a story but a living and compassionate human document of countless migrants who are searching for a beautiful dream.”

This novel, which is to be launched in the last week of Jestha by Bookhill Publishing, has given literary form to a harsh reality of contemporary Nepali society by focusing on foreign dreams, displacement, struggle and human sensitivity.

The cover, which was released, depicts a traveler crossing deserts and borders towards an uncertain destination, symbolizing the perilous migration journey via the ‘donkey route’. The book’s artistic cover design was prepared by Sachin Yagol Shrestha.

With the release of the cover, there has been significant interest in Dr. Giri’s work among international literary circles and readers.
