SEOUL:- The National Coordination Council of the Non-Resident Nepali Association, South Korea, has been continuing the ‘Buddha Was Born in Nepal’ campaign that has been running continuously since 2008. In the same vein, the famous Dongmyosan Mountain Climbing Program in South Korea was grandly concluded on Sunday.

Through the climb, the message that Lord Gautam Buddha was born in Lumbini, Nepal, was conveyed to the international community, as well as the message that Nepal is the world’s best destination for mountains, trekking, and tourism, including Mount Everest.

Speaking about the program, NRNA South Korea President Bipin Gurung said that the campaign is an important link in introducing Nepal to the world. He expressed the view that such programs will greatly contribute to the promotion of Nepal’s tourism and play an important role in establishing Nepal’s identity in foreign lands.

Similarly, the organization’s general secretary Naresh Sharma informed that this campaign has been conducted with priority since 2008, embracing the objectives of NRNA. He mentioned that Sunday’s mountain climbing program is also an integral part of the campaign to introduce the country to the world.

Prakash Dhamala, the patron of the organization, said that the style of the program was unique and effective, and said that it was a matter of pride to participate in such a patriotic campaign. He suggested that the entire Nepali community in South Korea continue to conduct such creative and national interest programs in the coming days.

The climbing program was attended by senior advisor of NRNA South Korea Jeevan Khatiwada, advisor Santosh Khadka, and other officials and Nepali community members. The participants marched while displaying the Nepalese flag and banners with the message of Buddha.
