KATHMANDU:- The parliamentary hearing on Dr. Manoj Kumar Sharma, who has been recommended for the post of Chief Justice, is starting today. For that, a meeting of the Parliamentary Hearing Committee has been called at 8 am today.
The meeting to be held in the Legislative Management Committee meeting room will include opening the complaints filed against Dr. Sharma and distributing the action plan related to the hearing, informed the committee’s Deputy Secretary Savitra Sharma. According to sources, seven complaints have been filed against him.
The Constitutional Council meeting held on May 7, 2026 had decided to recommend Dr. Manoj Kumar Sharma, the fourth-ranking judge of the Supreme Court, for appointment as the Chief Justice. There is a legal provision for the appointment to be made by the President after the parliamentary hearing process is completed.
