23rd edition of ‘Nepal Day Parade 2026’ concluded grandly in Colorado

COLORADO:- The 23rd edition of the ‘Nepal Day Parade 2026’ has concluded in Colorado. The 23rd edition of the ‘Nepal Day Parade’, which has been organized in Boulder, Colorado since 2004, concluded in a grand manner on Saturday.

Bishnu Vivek, the organization’s youth coordinator and program director, informed that the participants in the Nepal Parade, organized by the Rocky Mountain Friends of Nepal (RMFN), paraded around the city of Boulder, waving the flags of Nepal and the United States, wearing Nepali costumes and costumes of various ethnic groups, playing traditional Nepali instruments.

The event, supported by NRNA America and Helping Hands Health and Education, was attended by Boulder City Mayor Aaron Brackett, Founder Narayan Shrestha, RMFN President Aakriti Rai, International Nepali Literature Society Board of Trustees President Padam Bishwakarma, and heads and representatives of the Nepali community and organizations in Colorado.

Addressing this year’s Nepal Parade program, Boulder City Mayor Brackett, who was also the chief guest, said that Kathmandu Metropolitan City and Boulder City have a sisterly relationship and that the geographical, natural, and cultural ties between the two cities are special in Nepal-US relations.

Stating that he has been closely watching and participating in the Nepal Day Parade program every year since its inception, he stressed the need to continue it in the coming year as well and to strengthen the mutual cultural ties between the two countries. He also recalled his recent visit to the Kathmandu Valley and said that he was happy to welcome many Nepalis to the city of Boulder.

Similarly, Narayan Shrestha, the founder and special guest of the Nepal Day Parade, said that he was happy to continue the Nepal Day Parade, which started in 2004, this year as well. He commented that he was happy to introduce Nepal to the United States by walking around the city of Boulder wearing Nepali attire, the Nepali flag, and costumes of various ethnic groups of Nepal while playing traditional Nepali instruments. He said that it was a moment of pride for Nepalis to take photos and videos on their mobile phones as they walked around the city of Boulder with the Nepali flag, and that this should be continued next year as well.

“As we walked around the city waving the Nepali flag, wearing Nepali attire, and playing traditional Nepali music, locals and tourists from Boulder were taking photos and videos of the Nepal Day Parade on their mobile phones,” he said. “This is the proudest moment for us. Even though it’s just one day, we have been promoting Nepal in the United States for 23 years. “We are currently promoting Nepal through the Nepal Day Parade in New York and California in the US, as well as in Europe, Asia, and Australia. We should and will continue to do so every year.

Similarly, at the event, the president of the organizing RMFN, Aakriti Rai, thanked all the participants for continuing the campaign to introduce Nepal to the US for years. Among the participants in the parade, Newar, Rai, Limbu, Magar, Gurung, and Sherpa communities wore their ethnic costumes and performed cultural dances while playing traditional instruments.

The Nepal Day Parade, which introduces Nepal to the United States on the occasion and in the context of the Nepali New Year, first started in Boulder, Colorado in 2004. Recently, Nepal Day Parade festivals have been held in other cities in the United States, various European countries, and various cities in Australia.
