KATHMANDU:-  Currently, Nepal is under the influence of western winds and local winds and a low pressure area near the eastern part of Nepal. Due to its influence, some parts of the country, including the Kathmandu Valley, have received rain.

According to the Meteorological Forecasting Division, this afternoon, it will be generally cloudy in the mountainous and hilly areas of Koshi, Bagmati and Gandaki provinces, as well as Lumbini, Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces, and partially cloudy in the Terai areas of Lumbini and Sudurpaschim provinces.

The Division has stated that there is a possibility of moderate to heavy rain/snowfall with thunder/lightning in some places in the mountainous and hilly areas of Koshi, Bagmati and Gandaki provinces, in the Terai of Koshi, Bagmati and Gandaki provinces including Madhesh province, and in a few places in the mountainous and hilly areas of Lumbini, Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces.

In addition, there is a possibility of light rain with thunder/lightning at one or two places in the Terai region of Lumbini Province. There is a possibility of hot days in the Terai region of Sudurpaschim and Lumbini Provinces. The division has stated that there is a possibility of windstorm at a few places in the Terai region of Koshi, Bagmati and Gandaki Provinces, including Madhesh Province.

Similarly, the Koshi, Madhes, Bagmati and Gandaki provinces, as well as the mountainous areas of Lumbini, Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces, will be generally cloudy. The hilly areas of Lumbini, Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces will be partly cloudy, and the Terai areas of Lumbini and Sudurpaschim provinces will remain mainly clear, the division has stated.

There is a possibility of moderate to heavy rain and snowfall in some places in Koshi and Madhes provinces, and in a few places in Bagmati and Gandaki provinces. There is a possibility of light rain and snowfall with thunder and lightning in one or two places in the mountainous and hilly areas of Lumbini and Karnali provinces and the mountainous areas of Sudurpaschim province, the department has stated.
