‘Purification, strengthening and renaissance are necessary in the party’

KATHMANDU:- CPN (UML) General Secretary Shankar Pokharel has said that there is a need for purification, strengthening and renaissance in the party. He made this statement at a program organized at the party central office, Chyasal, on Monday to hand over the post to Niraj Acharya, Chief of the CPN (UML) Publicity and Publication Department.

General Secretary Pokharel said, “The party understands and needs to work to further unify the party ideologically, politically and organizationally. It is not possible to unify it in the current situation. For that, the party needs to be purified, strengthened and renaissance is needed.”

He said that the party is currently reviewing the 2082 general election and collecting suggestions on behalf of the task force, appreciating the sentiments of the party ranks on how to move forward in the direction of restructuring the party. He said that the party is in favor of the belief that it should move forward in a new way.

He said, “On the one hand, the issue of how to deal with the impact of populism and anarchism on society should be a topic on the agenda. It seems that building public opinion in favor of ideologically based movements by making maximum use of information and technology is another important task.”

UML Central Publicity Department Chief Niraj Acharya said that the current propaganda style should not be limited to the traditional style. He said that it should not only be about information flow but also be credible, intellectual, factual, strong and superior in thought.

Former Head of the Publicity Department Rajendra Gautam handed over the responsibility along with the meeting booklet to the current Head Niraj Acharya. Former Heads of the Publicity Department Surya Thapa and Min Bahadur Shahi were present at the program.
