Nepal’s economy expected to expand by 3.85 percent in the current fiscal year Finance Minister Dr. Wagle said that the country's economic and social indicators have improved, and federal revenue has increased by 3.2 percent as of Falgun, (March).

KATHMANDU:- Nepal Government has presented the Economic Survey for the current fiscal year 2082/083 in the parliament.

Presenting the Economic Survey for the fiscal year 2082/83 in the House of Representatives of the federal parliament, Finance Minister Dr. Swarnim Wagle said that Nepal’s economy is expected to expand by 3.85 percent in the current fiscal year.

Finance Minister Dr. Wagle said that the country’s economic and social indicators have improved, and federal revenue has increased by 3.2 percent as of Falgun, (March).

Finance Minister Wagle said that the size of the country’s economy is estimated to reach 6.6 trillion and the per capita gross national income is estimated to reach 1,535 US dollars in the current fiscal year.

Finance Minister Dr. Wagle informed that federal revenue has increased by 3.2 percent till Falgun, (March) of the current fiscal year. He said that although federal expenditure has increased by 10.4 percent, capital expenditure has not improved significantly.

During this period, the government has mobilized 300 billion rupees of public debt, including internal and external loans.

Minister Wagle informed that as of Falgun, (March), the government’s total outstanding public debt stood at Rs 2878 billion, the trade deficit increased by 11.2 percent to Rs 1098 billion, and remittance inflow increased by 37.7 percent to Rs 1450 billion.
