KATHMANDU:- Prime Minister Balendra Shah attended the meeting on Sunday as per the demand of the MPs and answered their questions. Prime Minister Shah clarified that the government has already sent a diplomatic note regarding the territory including Limpiyadhura and that the problem will be resolved accordingly.

Prime Minister Shah made this statement while responding to a question raised by lawmakers in the House of Representatives meeting. Shah informed that talks are underway with both the UK and India to resolve the issue through diplomatic means. Prime Minister Shah gave this answer in response to a question raised by Padmakumari Aryal, Deputy Leader of the CPN (UML) Parliamentary Party.

Stating that the government’s focus is on upgrading the country from a less developed country to a developing country and improving the country’s economic condition, Prime Minister Shah recalled that the Kathmandu Metropolitan City had previously done this work for such students, as they could not afford to study in expensive colleges. He said that the government is trying to implement that system across the country.

Stating that even though the constitution provides for free education, the government’s budget will not cover it, Prime Minister Shah expressed his commitment to support students from poor families.

In response to a query raised by lawmakers regarding the issue of squatters, Prime Minister Shah said that the problem of squatters has been shifted to the holding center to permanently resolve it. He said that the squatter families living in dirty places on the banks of the river are at risk and are suffering from various diseases, so they have been shifted from the river banks to save their lives.

“Let’s not try to solve the problem that has not been solved in 35 years in 35 minutes, it will take some time, but it will be solved,” said Prime Minister Shah. Nepal has also encroached on Indian land in many places, and India is not the only one encroaching on Nepal’s land, Prime Minister Shah said, “The government will resolve the land issue through diplomatic means.”

Stating that there will be arrangements to pay the money to the cooperative victims, Prime Minister Shah said that the process has already begun. Prime Minister Shah said that the government is taking the initiative to address the various reports of the commission after studying them.
