LOS ANGELES:- Satendra Sah, a candidate for the post of president of the Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRNA) of America, has said that building an NRNA that unites the Nepali diaspora is his election agenda.

Addressing an interaction program organized by www.thehimalayanvoice.com Integration Through Media in Los Angeles on Saturday, Sah said that he would also focus on effectively raising the issue of constitutional amendment with major political parties for the continuation of Nepali citizenship.

In response to inquiries from representatives of a dozen local organizations, Sah said, “The fund, which will provide financial relief to thousands of Nepali students and low-income members, will be operated from a small portion of the membership fee.”

Team Satendra Vice President Mohan Waiba and General Secretary Mohan Neupane said that due to the negligence of the current leadership of the association, the community’s perception of the association has become negative and the number of members is decreasing.

Treasurer Rabindra Upreti said that there is no financial transparency within the association and that the association is not accountable to local organizations working for the rights and interests of the community. He claimed that the association led by Team Satendra will do some exemplary work, not many.

Women’s Coordinator Karina Kuwar said that there is a lack of trust between women and the second generation in NRNA and that she will connect them through a program to connect women and the second generation during her tenure.

At the event, community leaders Bhakta Thapa, Rajendra Siwakoti, Dinesh Shah, Krishna Koirala, Ramchandra Lamichhane, Ram Babu Pandey, Yubaraj Oli, Jhamak Niraula, Rajesh Niraula, Amrit Mahato, Bash Bishu and others also wished Team Satendra victory.

The event, chaired by Purushottam Dhakal, editor of www.thehimalayanvoice.com Integration Through Media, was moderated by community leader Nabin Pokharel.
