‘Lalibazar’ became the highest-grossing film among the films released

KATHMANDU:- The film ‘Lalibazar’ has earned the highest grossing film of the year 2083 BS.

According to the statistics released by the Film Development Board of Nepali films currently showing in the cinema halls, the film has earned around eight crore rupees as of Saturday, 16th Jestha. As mentioned in the ‘Cinepa-2 Box Office’ under the board, the film ‘Lalibazar’ has earned Rs 79 million 31 thousand 476 as of last Saturday.

A total of 196,406 tickets have been sold during the same period for the Nepali film ‘Lalibazar’, starring actress Swastima Khadka in the central role. Actor Rabindra Singh Baniya said that the success of the film in the domestic market, which has been showing in cinema halls across Nepal since April 25, has excited all the members associated with the film.

He said, “The love we have received from the audience has made us feel that our hard work has paid off. This time, as a social responsibility, we have shown the impact of the light of education on society and individuals along with entertainment, which the audience liked. This film conveys the message that life cannot be bright without education.” According to him, audiences across Nepal have praised the content, directorial aspects, and the lively performances of the actors.

The film stars actor Baniya along with Samaira Thapa, Mukunda Kumar Shrestha, Abhay Baral, Bishal Devkota, Prasamsha Subedi and others. Similarly, the film ‘Paralko Ago’, which was released on Baisakh 11, has earned Rs 42.784 crore. A total of 154,034 tickets have been sold for the film, produced by Sushil Pokharel.

Directed by Laxman Sunar, the film stars Prakash Saput, Suhana Thapa, Saugat Malla, Sirjana Adhikari and others. Similarly, the Nepali film ‘Malati Mangale’, which has been in the screens since 25th Baisakh, has earned Rs 51 lakh 73 thousand 793. A total of 16,188 tickets have been sold for the film. Produced by singer Ramkrishna Dhakal, the film stars actors like Barsha Raut, Vijay Baral, and Maxam Gaudel. Directed by Praku Pandey, the film has not been able to do well in the domestic market.

The movie ‘Guru Aama’, which was released on Baisakh 25, has earned Rs 2942,576. A total of 9,327 tickets have been sold for the movie. Directed by Prem Soni Sunar, the movie stars Mithila Sharma, Gauri Malla, Buddhi Tamang, Tika Sanu, Sushma Thapa, Sushil Pokharel, Dhruv Koirala, Uttam KC, Giri Bahadur Pun and other actors.

Similarly, the Nepali film ‘Ek Muthi Badal’, which was released on 1st Jestha, has earned Rs 521,825. A total of 1,505 tickets have been sold for the film, directed by Sahara Sharma. The film stars actresses Aanchal Sharma, Sahyog Adhikari, Usha Rajak, Nisha Sharma and others.

The movie ‘Life Damage’, which was released on 16th Jestha, has earned Rs 33 lakh 26 thousand 320. A total of 10 thousand 855 tickets have been sold for the movie directed by Nimesh Shrestha. The movie, which is made in the ‘Fantasy Comedy Drama’ genre, stars Suraksha Pant, Nimesh Shrestha, Isha Thapa, Sanjana Maharjan, Amogh Aryal, Anish Jung Thapa, Ajay Pant, Sabin Bastola and Niru Khadka among others.

Similarly, the two films ‘Kaji’ and ‘Meet Jyu’, which were released on 20th Jestha, have not received good response from the audience. These two films have not been able to do good business in the first week. The film ‘Kaji’, starring actress Bipin Karki, actress Keki Adhikari, and Garima Sharma, has earned Rs 40 lakh 88 thousand 175. A total of 13 thousand seven tickets have been sold for the film, directed by Laxman Rijal. The film, produced by Ram Prasad Rijal, depicted a rural love story.

The movie ‘Mitajyu’, which was released on 20th Jestha, has earned Rs 12 million 59 thousand 82 during the same period. A total of 41 thousand 248 tickets have been sold for the movie, directed by Anil Budha Magar. The movie, produced by Janak Gharti Magar, stars actors Saugat Malla, Dayahang Rai, Teriya Fauja Magar and others.

According to the public data available at the board’s ‘Cinepa 2 Box Office’, ‘Lalibazar’ has been the highest grossing film in the domestic market among the films released till mid-Jeshtha this year. The Film Development Board officially publishes the details of the earnings of Nepali films every Monday.
