LOS ANGELES:- Shree Pashupatinath Foundation, USA is organizing a week-long Shrimad Bhagwat Mahapuran Gyan Mahayagya from June 15–21, 2026, at Shree Pashupatinath & Buddha Mandir in Norwalk, California.

The “Shrimad-Bhagawata Mahapurana Saptaha Gyan Mahayagya 2026,” to be conducted by renowned Bhagawata narrator Shree Radhika Daasi, will feature daily prayers, Paath Parayan, Bhajans, and Kirtan. Thousands of devotees and community members from across Southern California are expected to attend this spiritual event.

The event will also serve as a major fundraiser for the proposed Nepalese Cultural Center (NCC), aimed at preserving Nepali language, traditions, and cultural identity for future generations.

According to temple president Bimal Shrestha, all preparations for the Shrimad Bhagwat Mahapuran Gyan Mahayagya have been completed. The religious ritual, which aims to raise funds for the construction of a Nepali Community Center, has been extended to Sanatan Dharma followers in Southern California, who have been invited to participate in person, through social media, and through media too.

According to Chairman Shrestha, arrangements have been made for the devotees who will come to the Shrimad Bhagwat Mahapuran Gyan Mahayagya to listen to the Mahapuran, worship and receive Prasad, and for this, the temple management and volunteers will provide necessary support.

Chairman Shrestha has also invited all the Sanatanis living in this area to participate in the Shrimad Bhagwat Mahapuran Gyan Mahayagya.

Temple Secretary Tulsi Gyawali said at a press conference, “At a time when the busy American lifestyle and Western influence are causing us to forget our roots, culture, and civilization, the Shrimad Bhagwat Mahapuran Gyan Mahayagya will provide an opportunity to connect with spirituality, Sanatan, and Eastern philosophy.”

According to Secretary Gyawali, the Shrimad Bhagwat Mahapuran Gyan Mahayagya will be completed with grandeur through the Advisory Committee, Coordination Committee, Working Committee, various sub-committees and Southern California based Sanatan Devotees.

“This Mahayagya is more than a religious event—it is a collective effort to preserve Nepali culture and heritage in the United States and build a lasting legacy for our community,” Mahapuran Coordinator and Immediate Past President Rameshor Bhandari said.

A public meeting held on May 17 formed a 499-member Mahapuran Main Organizing Committee and 24 subcommittees to make event management more efficient.
