KATHMANDU:- The country is currently under the partial influence of westerly winds and local wind systems, resulting in mixed weather conditions across Nepal, according to the Weather Forecasting Division under the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology.

The Division said the Himalayan region and the Terai areas of Koshi Province are partly cloudy, while most other parts of the country are experiencing mainly fair weather conditions.

This afternoon, generally cloudy conditions are expected in the Himalayan and hilly regions of Koshi Province, along with other mountainous and hilly areas across the country. The Terai regions are likely to remain partly cloudy.

The Department has forecast light to moderate rainfall and snowfall accompanied by thunder and lightning in some parts of the Himalayan and hilly regions of Koshi Province. Similar weather activity is also expected in a few locations in the hilly and Himalayan regions of Bagmati and Gandaki provinces, as well as in some Himalayan areas of Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces. Light to moderate rainfall may also occur at a few places in the Terai region of Koshi Province.

Meanwhile, hot weather conditions are likely in the Terai belt and valley regions of Madhesh Province, as well as in the Terai areas of Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces. The Department has also warned that heat wave conditions may develop in some Terai areas of Lumbini and Sudurpaschim provinces.
