Durga Prasai released after Parsa District court order Officials involved in the investigation have said that Prasai has been using abusive language against women on YouTube and making obscene comments that belittle state institutions, such as the army and police.

BIRGUNJ:- The Parsa District Court has ordered the release of Durga Prasai, the coordinator of the National, Nationality, Religion, Culture and Citizen Protection Campaign, on a regular date today.

Prasai was released following the Parsa Court’s order, said Hari Basnet, DSP and spokesperson of the Parsa District Police Office. The police had filed a case against him for cyber crimes and crimes against the state.

The bench of Parsa District Court Judge Gayatri Prasad Regmi had today ordered the release of Prasai on a regular date.

After hearing the case registered against Prasai, the court ordered to keep him in custody and proceed with the investigation and legal process on a date.

On May 18, police arrested Prasai from the Diyalo Hotel in Birgunj, Parsa. When a case was filed in the court on Monday, a demand was made for punishment against him for offenses under the Electronic Transactions Act 2063 and offenses against the state.

Officials involved in the investigation have said that Prasai has been using abusive language against women on YouTube and making obscene comments that belittle state institutions, such as the army and police.
