LONDON:- The Nepali Embassy in London has organized the program ‘One Child, One Plant: A Day at the Nepal Embassy’ with the aim of connecting Nepali children growing up in the UK with Nepal.

On Saturday morning, Nepali children between the ages of 5 and 15 studying in various schools in the UK gathered at the embassy premises in Kensington Palace Gardens. Around 40 children, who gathered with their parents, happily planted seedlings of various plants, including seasonal flowers, on the embassy premises.

Nepal’s Acting Ambassador to the UK, Bipin Duwadi, said that the program aims to increase children’s love for Nepal, raise awareness about Nepali culture and values, and develop environmental awareness, in addition to taking them to the embassy.

“This initiative is to connect children with Nepal. This program is also organized to inform children about our country, festivals, and Nepali identity. Planting trees is a symbolic thing, the main thing is to connect with Nepal,” said Duwadi.

Speaking at the event, Yoga instructor Sarita Sharma from Life Sciences UK recalled that the United Nations recently celebrated the first World Health Day on the proposal of the Government of Nepal and said that such programs will make children aware of environmental health.

Parents expressed happiness that their children had the opportunity to visit the Nepali Embassy and participate in environmentally friendly activities such as planting trees.
