COLORADO:- The second annual general meeting of the Blood Donors of America (BDA) concluded with a grand ceremony, passing a three-point declaration.

The second annual general meeting, held on May 26 at Nepali House, a Nepali cultural center in Colorado, concluded with a grand ceremony, passing a three-point declaration.

Narayan Shrestha, a social worker and founder of Helping Hand, was present as the chief guest at the inaugural session chaired by outgoing chairman Maheshwor Pant.

Similarly, special guests present at the program included social worker and long-time US resident engineer Rohini Sharma, advisor and former president Dr. Nanda Regmi, advisor and INLS BOT president Padam Bishwakarma, and advisor and outgoing president Bhushan Lal Shrestha.

Other guests included Resham Gharti, Shiva Kafle, BDA Executive Vice President Tika Poudel, Vice Presidents Birochan Nepal, Vijaydev Adhikari, Lila Shrestha, Jhamk Niraula, Co-Treasurer Ganga Thapa, General Secretary Satish Chandra Gupta, Central Member Thaniratna Kandel, and others.

Addressing the inaugural session, which began with the joint lighting of the lamp by the chief guest and special guests present at the event, chief guest Narayan Shrestha said that the work done by BDA is the most sacred of all social works in the world.

He also announced that he would provide $1,000 a year to the BDA to establish a fund for the award, saying that such organizations that save the lives of people doing sacred work should be rewarded for their good work.

Praising the announcement of the chief guest’s prize fund, President Maheshwar Pant presented a three-point declaration at the ceremony. In which he proposed to increase the number of lifetime members to 2,500 by next year’s general meeting, increase the lifetime membership fee to $100 for the first person in the household, and add one more family member, so that the total fee for two members is only $150.

Similarly, in the second proposal, the organization will initiate the formation of committees in ten more states in addition to the state committees formed by the organization. In the third proposal, the organization will add a STEAM member to the organization’s statute to include a group of highly respected and supportive members. After that, it was proposed to provide for 5 types of membership in the organization.


The assembly unanimously passed all the proposals of the chairman, including the proposal to have a BDA Board of Trustees. The provision of a match-up fund and the reference to including Nepal in the name of BDA were also raised in the meeting.

Special guest Rohini Sharma, a social worker and a lover of many organizations, said that she has been involved in BDA for a long time and that the work of this organization is commendable above all other organizations. She vowed to support this organization as actively as possible. She said that saving lives directly from the society is like the work of God, and she also wanted to spend time in this organization.

INLS BOT President and BDA Advisor Padam Bishwakarma said that ANESAS and BDA are working together and are always ready for cooperation, saying that there will be better cooperation through Pantji in the coming days.

Addressing the inaugural session with a brief introduction about BDA at the ceremony, current advisor and former president Dr. Nanda Regmi called on everyone to join this organization.

Similarly, the meeting was greeted by INLS Colorado Chapter President Kiran Adhikari, Nepali Ghar Acting President Ganga Chaulagain, NRN Colorado President Nima Sherpa, and others.

In the second phase of the program, the chapter presidents and regional vice presidents presented working papers on blood donation in their respective areas and the status of the organization. Presenting the reports of the treasurer and secretary, Ganga Thapa informed that more than sixteen thousand US dollars had been collected from the membership added in these six months. Similarly, the general secretary presented the progress report of the organization.

Chairmen who were unable to attend the meeting, Krishna Acharya from New York, Tej Karki from Florida, Ram Thapa from Massachusetts, and Secretary Tara Kharal Neupane from New Hampshire, conveyed their best wishes and presented their progress through video technology.

NRNA Colorado Chapter President Nima Sherpa received a lifetime membership at the event. The chief guest presented the organization’s pins to new and current lifetime members.

The meeting was welcomed by Nawaraj Marasini, the program coordinator and BDA Colorado State Committee chair, and the vote of thanks was given by Senior (Executive) Vice President Tika Poudel. The program was moderated by Shriram Luitel, the organization’s former treasurer.
