KATHMANDU:- The Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRNA), which has been divided for four years, is set to unite. The President of the divided group, Dr. Badri KC, and the President of the other group, Mahesh Kumar Shrestha, have agreed to unite the NRNA.
President Shrestha said, “Now the path to unity is open. The working committee meeting held today passed a 9-point consensus proposal and made a formal decision to move forward by uniting with the working committee of President Dr. Badri KC.”
Earlier on Sunday, a meeting chaired by Chairman Dr. Badri KC had decided to move forward by addressing the demands of the Shrestha faction while preparing for a unity convention.
Dr. KC said, “We had reached an agreement between Maheshji, the Foreign Secretary and the ministry officials. We wanted to hold a special program on the foundation day of the association, October 11, but that was not possible. Now our goal is to unite and hold a general convention.”
