By Purushottam Dhakal, LOS ANGELES:- US Department of Homeland Security Secretary Christy Noem has claimed that US Border Patrol and Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) have arrested 5,000 undocumented immigrants in Los Angeles, California, since June.
According to Christie Noem, despite violent rioters attempting to obstruct law enforcement officers from enforcing the law, ICE and Border Patrol continue their campaign to remove illegal immigrants.
“On Tuesday, DHS law enforcement arrested 5,000 undocumented immigrants in Los Angeles. We’ve taken 5,000 of those illegal immigrants, gang members, child predators, and murderers off the streets. Make no mistake: If you are in the United States illegally, we will find you, arrest you, and deport you. This is just the beginning,” said Secretary Christy Noem.”
On Tuesday, DHS’s 5,000th arrest in Los Angeles was Gustavo Garcia-Miranda, an illegal immigrant from Mexico. He first entered the U.S. illegally in 2008 and was arrested by Border Patrol for illegal re-entry.
Secretary Noem made it clear, “LA rioters will not stop DHS. Our law enforcement will continue to enforce the law. And anyone who lays a hand on a law enforcement officer will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.”
