DUBAI, (UAE):- The Nepali Consulate General in Dubai has tightened the visa verification process after Nepali workers coming to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) on personal visas were stranded and faced various problems.

It has been found that some companies that bring in workers on personal visas are not trustworthy and that the companies are not responsible for implementing visa, Emirates card and insurance arrangements after the workers arrive in the UAE.

In addition, the Consulate General has taken this step after receiving numerous complaints that there was no work available in the company and workers had to look for work elsewhere. The Consulate General has clarified that personal visas will now be validated only in five specific cases, subject to the Guidelines on the Procedure for Obtaining Work Permits for Workers Going for Foreign Employment on Individual Labor Permits, 2069.

According to the new system, when a worker gets a visa for the company he works for, it will be verified only if he submits an official document proving the relationship. Such a relationship will include only mother, father, son, daughter, brother, sister, husband and wife.

Similarly, if a person comes to work again in the company he worked for before, he will have to submit documents such as the Emirates card obtained on the basis of the employment received from the company he worked for before.

If a person wants to find employment on their own through the internet or other means and come to skilled work, a rule has been made that the person’s profile, the company’s profile, the job must match the person’s profile, and they must submit documents confirming their skills.

In addition, individual visas will also be authenticated if requested in writing by a UAE government agency or diplomatic mission or related official. Similarly, visas will also be authenticated if the documents of a worker employed by a UAE company reveal that he or she has worked in the UAE before returning home.

However, in the case of workers working as domestic or private workers, a mandatory condition has been made to have a visa valid until September 2024.

The Consulate General has also requested to visit its official website link for detailed procedures and documents required for individual visa verification.
