Nepali Congress assigns special responsibility to update active membership The meeting has decided to issue a circular to renew membership and distribute new memberships to the public relations committees of seven other countries that have had little contact with the central office for various reasons after the party's 14th general convention.

KATHMANDU:- The Nepali Congress has assigned special responsibilities to its office bearers and central members to ensure smooth and speedy progress in updating active membership.

The meeting of the Congress Membership Management Central Committee held here today in the presence of party President Gagan Kumar Thapa assigned the responsibility to the central office bearers and central members in all seven provinces to monitor the activities using all organizational structures.

The meeting decided to assign the responsibility of Koshi Province to Dr. Dila Sangraula, Bagmati Province to Bahadur Singh Lama, Sudarshamsher Rana to Sudurpaschim Province, Gandaki Province to Muktakumari Yadav, Karnali Province to Janaki Singh, Madhes Province to Devraj Chalise, and Lumbini Province to Amar Singh Pun, informed Acting Chief Secretary Krishna Prasad Dulal.

The meeting has decided that the distribution of new active memberships for the party’s 15th General Convention and the renewal of the memberships of active members who could not be renewed earlier due to various reasons and entering them into the central system should be completed by Jestha 21, (June 4, 2026).

Acting Chief Secretary Dulal said that the meeting decided to issue a circular to the district presidents to consider the active memberships granted by the Active Membership Investigation Committee formed during the 14th General Convention of the Nepali Congress as old memberships and include them in the renewal process.

The meeting has decided to deploy central representatives in the districts on behalf of the Membership Management Central Committee to resolve membership-related issues for people who have been integrated into the Congress from various parties.

Similarly, Dr. Gopal Dahit has been assigned the responsibility of Bara, Angelu Sherpa has been assigned the responsibility of Siraha, Abdul Sattar has been assigned the responsibility of Dhanusha, Rajiv Dhungana has been assigned the responsibility of Saptari, Kusum Thapa has been assigned the responsibility of Solukhumbu, Dev Prasad Timilsina has been assigned the responsibility of Sarlahi, Tilak Ranabhat has been assigned the responsibility of Surkhet, Pramodahari Guragain has been assigned the responsibility of Mahottari, Tekraj Poudel has been assigned the responsibility of Kapilvastu, Jagadishnar Singh KC has been assigned the responsibility of Sunsari, Kamal Kishore Ghimire has been assigned the responsibility of Rautahat, Krishna Rijal has been assigned the responsibility of Parsa, and Ishwor Adhikari has been assigned the responsibility of Kathmandu.

Similarly, in the case of the Congress Public Relations Committee, the meeting has decided to grant permission for the active updating process for the public relations committees of seven countries whose conventions have already been concluded. In the case of the public relations committees of 15 countries where there are no problems related to active membership, a circular has been issued to submit a schedule to the central office for updating the active membership and concluding the convention.

Similarly, Chief Secretary Dulal informed that it has been decided to study the public relations committees of eight countries that have problems related to active membership and make necessary coordination to resolve the problem. The meeting held under the chairmanship of the committee’s coordinator, General Secretary Pradeep Poudel, has decided to appoint Prem Bishwakarma, Joint Secretary of the Central Office, as the Secretary of the Congress Membership Management Central Committee.
