KATHMANDU:- The Nepali Congress Deuba faction has held a congratulatory program in honor of the party’s newly elected MPs. Along with Khadka and Koirala, senior leaders Bimalendra Nidhi, Prakash Man Singh, Jeet Jung Basnet and others are participating in the program organized at the Smart Hotel in Maharajgunj.

After the arrest of former Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak, Khadka issued a statement as the acting president and even organized a meeting of district presidents close to Sher Bahadur Deuba.

The party leadership has started discussions with the aim of internal deliberations on this issue after active parallel activities of disgruntled groups were observed. A party official participating in the discussion gave a brief response, saying, “This is not a formal meeting, but an informal discussion.”

In the last election to the House of Representatives, the Congress had won 38 seats. The party’s establishment wing had earlier conducted a training program in Sanepa for the newly elected MPs. As the dispute within the party intensified, the Khadka-Koirala group called the MPs separately to congratulate them and started parallel activities.
