LOS ANGELES:-  Ramchandra Lamichhane has been elected as the president of the Nepali Public Relations Committee Southern California Chapter, the foreign organization of the Nepali Congress. Lamichhane was unanimously elected as the president at the convention held on Saturday.

The convention has elected a 15-member working committee, including Ajit Ghimire and Prabin Ghimire as vice-presidents, Vivek Shrestha as general secretary, Yug Mani Gurung as joint general secretary, and Shamsher Bahadur Bhandari as treasurer.

The election committee, headed by Bishwa Subedi, had announced on Friday evening that the working committee had been elected after a single candidate was nominated for all the positions. The entire working committee was elected unopposed after Rajesh Niraula, the candidate for the post of president, supported another candidate, Ramchandra Lamichhane.

At the inauguration ceremony held on Saturday night, Chief Election Commissioner Basu Subedi administered the oath to the entire working committee in the presence of outgoing President Madan Pathak and central member Gokul Dhakal.

At the ceremony, Honorary Consul Genral, Nepal to California Rishi Punakhar Dhakal, Nepali Congress General Convention member Tika Chaudhary, and Prabashi Manch central member Rajendra Siwakoti wished him a successful tenure.

Similarly, Shree Pashupatinath Buddha Foundation Chairman Bimal Shrestha, activists Nabin Pokharel, Anil Oli, Rajensh Niraula, and others wished the newly elected working committee well.

At the ceremony, newly elected President Ramchandra Lamichhane expressed his commitment to run the organization according to rules and procedures, stating that his door will always be open for the benefit of the community.

Outgoing President Madan Pathak said that he was happy to hand over the responsibility of the organization to a good person, just as river had returned after twelve years.

For the election purposes of the Nepali Public Relations Committee Southern California Chapter, a membership investigation committee was formed with Hem Thakulla as the coordinator and Bishwa Subedi as the coordinator.
