KATHMANDU:-  KP Sharma Oli has been elected as the Chairman of the CPN-UML at its 11th general convention. Oli has won the Chairmanship for the third time, defeating his rival Ishwor Pokharel by a wide margin.

According to the latest details provided by the Election Commission, presidential candidate KP Sharma Oli received 1,663 votes.

Prithvi Subba Gurung has won the post of Vice President with the most popular votes. Bishnu Poudel, Ram Bahadur Thapa Badal, Gokarna Raj Bista and Raghuji Pant have been elected for the 5 vice-chair positions based on popularity votes. Guru Baral of the KP Sharma Oli panel was defeated for the vice-chair position.

Similarly, Shankar Pokhrel has won the general secretary post, defeating his rival Surendra Pandey.  Similarly, Lekhraj Bhatta, Raghubir Mahaseth and Yogesh Bhattarai have won the post of Deputy Secretary General. Lekhraj Bhatta won by getting 1452 votes, Raghubir Mahaseth by getting 1368 votes and Yogesh Bhattarai by getting 1348 votes.

Bhatta and Mahaseth KP Sharma Oli won from the panel, while Bhattarai was elected from Ishwor Pokharel’s panel.
