KATHMANDU:-  The Supreme Court has issued a decree to reinstate Hitendra Dev Shakya as the Executive Director of the Nepal Electricity Authority.

A joint bench of Supreme Court Justices Nahakul Subedi and Shrikant Poudel issued a writ of mandamus in favor of Hitendra on Monday.

Minister Ghising had removed Shakya from the position of Executive Director of the Authority after he came to power in the Sushila Karki-led government. Shakya had approached the Supreme Court demanding his reinstatement in the Authority.

The Supreme Court order states, “It is hereby ordered that a writ of mandamus be issued in the name of the respondents, directing the writ petitioner to be reinstated as the Executive Director of the Nepal Electricity Authority.”
