WASHINGTON:- The US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (DHS) has confirmed that ICE has arrested Akhor Bozorov, an illegal immigrant and suspected terrorist truck driver from Uzbekistan.

Federal authorities said Monday that Akhror Bozorov, an undocumented immigrant who had begun working as a commercial truck driver, was arrested on charges of ties to terrorism.

Akhror Bozorov, 31, is from Uzbekistan, where authorities issued an arrest warrant for him in 2022 on charges of belonging to a terrorist organization, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement said.

Uzbek authorities accused him of distributing terrorist propaganda calling for jihad online and recruiting terrorists to join the jihadist movement.

ICE arrested Bozorov on November 9 while he was working as a commercial truck driver. ICE said Bozorov was issued a commercial driver’s license (CDL) in Pennsylvania, and was authorized to work under the Biden administration in January 2024.

“The Biden administration not only released Akhror Bozorov – a wanted terrorist – into the country, but he was also granted a commercial driver’s license by Governor Shapiro’s Pennsylvania,” DHS Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin said in a statement.
