KATHMANDU:- The weather in Gorkha’s Manaslu region has improved. Sunshine returned to Samdo area this morning, allowing tourists to step out, take photos, and have breakfast outdoors. Local Nima Tamang said conditions now permit travel to Dharmashala en route to Larke Pass.

Lower areas remain affected. The road from Jagat to Philim is impassable, and the Arughat–Machhikhola section is blocked at Naulikhola after floodwaters swept away a hume pipe. Gorkha District Administration has advised against travel from lower areas until roads and weather fully stabilise.

The status of 54-year-old Czech trekker Katerina Raskova, buried in a landslide near Nyak Phedi in Chumnubri remains unknown. The site has merged with the Budhi Gandaki River.

A police team from Sirdibas reached the area today. The trekking trail has collapsed entirely into the river, according to the police.

Raskova went missing on Friday at 2 pm when the landslide struck ahead of Nyak Phedi. Her husband and guide are safe. The guide first reported the incident.
