KATHMANDU:- The government has formed a committee to study and recommend in terms of security mechanism in regard to the implementation of the report submitted by the commission constituted to probe the September 8-9 Gen-Z Uprising.

A meeting of the Council of Ministers held today at the Singhadurbar-based Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers decided to form a three-member committee under the coordination of former judge of the High Court, Premraj Karki, informed government spokesperson and Minister for Education, Science and Technology, Sasmit Pokharel.

The members in the committee are former Additional Inspector General (AIG) of the Armed Police, Subodh Adhikari, and former AIG of the Nepal Police, Tek Prasad Rai. The cabinet decision also decided to accept the grant assistance of Swiss Franc one million to be received from Switzerland government for the tasks related to the investigation of the enforced disappeared persons, truth and reconciliation.

The meeting also decided to present to the House of Representatives the information about the agreement on mutual legal assistance in criminal matters between Nepal and India that was signed and accepted on Falgun 5, 2082 (February 17, 2026).

The cabinet meeting also decided to appoint the Deputy Director General, Director, and Section Officers of the Inland Revenue Department, Chief Tax Administrators, Chief Tax Officers, and Tax Officers of the Large Taxpayer Offices and Medium Taxpayer Offices, Chief Tax Officers and Tax Officers of the Inland Revenue Offices, as well as Chief Treasury Controllers or Treasury Controllers of 52 Treasury and Accounts Controller Offices, as internal auditors according to their respective areas.

Similarly, the cabinet meeting decided to approve the National Standard 2082 regarding organisation and management surveys, as well as to approve the Financial Procedure and Fiscal Responsibility (Third Amendment) Regulations, 2082.
