Rabindra Shrestha elected FNJ Japan President

TOKYO:- Rabindra Shrestha Gorkhali has been elected as the president of the Federation of Nepali Journalists Japan.

Shrestha, the editor-in-chief of Nepal Sandesh.com, was elected as the president for the next three-year term at the sixth convention of the Federation Japan Branch held in Tokyo, Japan on Sunday.

The branch, which has a total of 86 members, received 77 votes in the vote. Out of these, Shrestha was elected as the president with 44 votes.

His competitor Rajan Gautam received 32 votes. Shrestha is the vice-chairman of the previous working committee and Gautam is the secretary.

Similarly, Manisha Chamlagain has been elected as the open vice-president. She defeated her rival Gokarna Adhikari by two votes.

Chamlagain received 30 votes, Adhikari received 28 votes, and his rival for the vice-chairmanship, Binod Sapkota, received 19 votes. Similarly, Laxmi Poudel won the women’s vice-chairmanship position, while Arjun Lamichhane won the secretaryship position.

Bishnu Prasad Sapkota and Phurba Sherpa were unanimously elected as joint secretaries of the new working committee, Bhul Bahadur Rana Nishan as treasurer, and members Dinesh Thapa, Durga Prasad Acharya, Bhavani Bhatta, Bhuwan Bhandari, Ramchandra Giri, and Binod Dhakal.
