Preparations for the Fourth World Knowledge Conference in collaboration with the government and NRNA

-

SYDNEY:- The Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRNA) is preparing for the fourth World Knowledge Conference to be organized in January 2027.

The meeting concluded that the program should be jointly run based on the priority areas of the Government of Nepal.

In the virtual (via Zoom) meeting facilitated by the Vice President of the Association, Dr. Gyanendra Regmi, experts from various fields based abroad emphasized the need to create an environment of effective dialogue and trust between Nepalis living abroad and the Government of Nepal.

In addition, it has been expressed that the priorities of the government should be the main priorities of the NRNA. Special emphasis has been placed on the fact that the topics proposed in the meeting should be consistent with the goals of the National Planning Commission, be relevant and credible.

Similarly, it has been suggested that the conference should be organized in collaboration with national and international research institutions. It is believed that this will help in coordinating government priorities and international experience by involving expatriate experts as keynote speakers.

In addition, the need to make the upcoming conference more result-oriented, in line with the continuity of previous editions, has been pointed out.

The previous three editions focused on identifying key challenges for the Nepali government, expanding diaspora networks, and policy recommendations.

Now, the emphasis is on expanding collaboration by making the program practical and research-oriented. Association President Dr. Hemraj Sharma thanked the participants for their constructive suggestions and expressed his commitment to organize the Fourth World Knowledge Conference in an effective, practical, and result-oriented manner by incorporating those suggestions.
