‘NRNA’s activism has empowered the Nepali community living in Australia’

SYDNEY:- The Australian Parliament has recognized and honored the contribution of the Nepali community.

The Parliament of New South Wales, Australia, has highly appreciated the contribution of the Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRNA) Australia and formally honored it by presenting it with a ‘Community Recognition Statement’.

MP Mark Cure, in a statement to Parliament, praised the work of the organization and expressed his gratitude to the outgoing president of NRNA Australia, Anil Pokharel.

Cure said that Pokharel had made a significant contribution to the empowerment of the Nepali community across Australia, including New South Wales.

“It is a matter of pride that the Australian Parliament has honored NRNA Australia and Nepalis and recorded it in the Parliament. This has given us even more encouragement to work,” Pokharel said, expressing his happiness over the honor bestowed upon us by the Parliament. Welcoming the newly appointed Chairman Santosh Kunwar, MP Mark Joseph Coure said through the Parliament that he expects cooperation in the coming days.

In the statement, MP Mark Joseph Coure praised the role played by NRNA Australia in strengthening the upliftment, unity and identity of the Nepali community in New South Wales and across Australia.

He said that the St. George area is one of the major centers of Nepalis living in Australia and that the NRNA’s activism has empowered the community.

According to a statement presented in Parliament, NRNA Australia has achieved various notable achievements in the last two years.
