KATHMANDU:-  Nepali Congress public relations committees in various countries have urged the party to be strengthened and unified through regular general conventions.

On Saturday, the chairmen of the Public Relations Committees of 17 countries issued a joint appeal, saying that the 15th Regular General Convention process should continue as per the statute.

“We are currently in a difficult situation in the internal life of the Congress. Elections have already been announced in the country for (March 5th) Falgun 21. At a time like this, we must put aside our internal differences and move forward towards strengthening the country and the party,” the statement said.

They have urged the party leadership to understand this essence as it is time to move forward with greater organization, unity, and mutual brotherhood and cordiality.

“In the current situation where the general election process has begun, we must unite and engage in the electoral struggle. We are now engaged in the process of the 15th General Convention. The regular general convention to be held from May 11 to 13 will provide new life and energy to the party. For this, new general convention representatives have recently been selected from several countries of the Nepali Public Relations Committee,” the statement said.

A commitment has also been expressed to move forward by respecting the decision of the party’s Central Working Committee held on Poush 18, (January 2). “We sincerely appeal to you to once again stand firmly in favor of the party’s interests, with the belief that you will actively work to make the general election and the regular general convention to be held from April 28 to 31 a success,” the statement said.

The statement also requests leaders, activists, and well-wishers to exercise restraint, play their roles responsibly, and move forward by accepting and respecting each other.

A joint statement was issued by Balkrishna Pandey (India), Anand Bista (USA), Yuvraj Gurung (UK), Roshan KC (Japan), Suresh Gunung (Australia), Cholakant Pangeni (Malaysia).

Similarly, Bhuwani Prasad Timilsina, Arjun Thapa Saudi Arabia, Sher Bahadur Rawat (Bahrain), Subhash Gurung (Belgium), Shalik Gautam (Netherlands), Shikhar Khadka (Germany), Yadav Basnet (Denmark), Naveen Thapaliya (Sweden), Deepika Bhusal (Israel), Buddhi Prakash Oli (Canada) and Buddhisagar Ghimire (New Zealand) jointly issued a press release.
