JANAKPUR:- Nepali Congress President Gagan Thapa has expressed confidence that the party will be revived with renewed vigor.

Speaking at the Nepali Congress Madhesh Province-level election review program organized in Janakpurdham on Wednesday, he said that whatever the election results, the party will return with new energy and strategy.

He clarified that there was no single reason for the poor results in the elections, and mentioned that a serious review was needed as the results were unprecedented in the history of the Nepali Congress.

President Thapa expressed his full confidence that the party would be reorganized and strengthened again, taking inspiration from the current situation and results.

He informed that a committee led by party Vice President Bishwaprakash Sharma will soon visit Janakpurdham. He said that the committee will hold discussions with stakeholders for policy formulation on important issues related to the province and local levels.

Thapa said that the Nepali Congress would fulfill the commitments made during the elections for governance reforms even while remaining in the opposition. He was committed to doing concrete work for Madhesh, respecting the trust shown by Madhesh Province in the past.

He also mentioned that he had the opportunity to understand the reality of Madhesh from close quarters when he contested the election from Sarlahi and said that he now feels like a complete ‘Samgra Nepali’.

He informed that applications for active membership will be opened from the upcoming Baisakh 1st and that members will be updated from each ward. He said that membership will be managed with the aim of creating quality members, even if they are few, and fraternal organizations will also be updated gradually.
