KATHMANDU:- The National Statistics Office Nepal has launched the Master Training of Trainers (ToT) Program in preparation for the upcoming National Economic Census 2082.
Speaking about the initiative, Deputy Chief Statistical Officer Dhundiraj Lamichhane said the program aims to train trainers who will later conduct sessions for District Economic Census Officers and Census Supervisors, as well as support the monitoring of field data collection. He emphasised that leveraging lessons from the 2075 BS Economic Census is crucial for ensuring the success of the upcoming survey.
For the first time, the census will incorporate modern technology, including e-Census tools, which are expected to improve efficiency and accuracy. The NSO has highlighted the importance of accountability and consistent understanding among trainers, stressing uniformity in training content across the country.
Chief Statistics Officer Dr Kamal Prasad Pokharel added that the economic census serves not just as a data collection exercise but as a key foundation for policy formulation and decision-making. He underscored that high-quality data is essential for quality planning and that the Master ToT Program will play a critical role in ensuring accurate and reliable census results.
