Author Krishna Bajgai honored with Diaspora Literature Award Bajgai the founding president of the Contemporary Literature Foundation, (Samakalin Sahitya Pratishthan) , UK, has been editing the online literary magazine 'Samakalin Sahitya.com' since 2007 and a research-oriented international journal of Nepali language literature since 2017.

LONDON:-  Diasporic author Krishna Bajgai and other personalities were honored at the Book Fair held in London.

Ambassador Chandra Kumar Ghimire and Professor Michael Hutt jointly presented the award to the writer Bajgai.

Author Krishna Bajgai has spent 25 years in Belgium and the UK. Active in the field of Nepali language literature, Bajgai has published 24 books in stories, poetry, travelogues, and children’s literature.

Bajgai, the founding president of the Contemporary Literature Foundation, (Samakalin Sahitya Pratishthan) , UK, has been editing the online literary magazine ‘Samakalin Sahitya.com’ since 2007 and a research-oriented international journal of Nepali language literature since 2017.

His descendants are taught in government schools in the undergraduate Nepali subject curriculum of Tribhuvan University, Lumbini Buddhist University, Nepal Sanskrit University, and Purbanchal University.

Another short story is taught in grade 9 of Nepali schools in Myanmar, while 21 of his other children’s stories are included in the curriculum of grades 4, 5, 6, and 7 of private schools in Nepal.

At the Kitab Jatra program, former head of BBC Nepali Service Khagendra Nepali was presented with the ‘Kitab Jatra Diaspora Lifetime Achievement Award’, and journalist Nabin Pokharel was presented with the ‘Kitab Jatra Diaspora Journalism Award’.

Similarly, entrepreneur Dr. Raksha Thapa has been awarded the ‘Entrepreneurship Award’ (Female) and Chong Sherpa has been awarded the ‘Entrepreneurship Award’ (Male), and Youth Entrepreneur Development Nepal has been awarded the ‘Youth Icon Award’.

Rishi Ram Adhikari, Director of the Kitab Yatra Foundation, said that the main objectives of the foundation are to develop the reading culture by exhibiting books through the Kitab Jatra, promoting entrepreneurship, and organizing the Shrestha Samman program.

The foundation has previously organized book fairs in the UK, Nepal, India, and the UAE.
